Description:

Aby Lou on the river Dortmund-Ems-Canal in Lingen.

On Thursday afternoon (06.01.) at about 17 o'clock at the Altenlingener bridge (Meppener Straße) there was a shipping accident. According to initial findings, the 53-year-old skipper had loaded too little ballast water, so that he got stuck on the bridge with his radar mast. The mast broke off in the further course and fell into the fairway. This caused damage to the ship amounting to around 100,000 euros. The bridge suffered minor damage. Shipping traffic was closed for a short time to prevent any danger.

Would need to ask the captain for his "trifle" meaning and/or tone of voice. In English could mean either - nothing serious, of unimportance to repair; or a slight, but annoying amount of money. (small beer).
So you both could be correct. 100,000 Euros to Bill Gates would be a trifle, to me a King's Ransom.
English, don't you love it?
