Description:

Italian bulker FRANCESCO F. seen at arrival Oristano, Sardinia in june 1981.
She was built 1970 at Ancona, and was of 47040 t.dw.
In 1987 she was sold to Liberian-flag owners, and renamed NEW FORTUNE.
From 1993 things start to get a bit complicated. That year she is reported sold to unknown owners. Still listed in Lloyds for many years, but without owners and flag. Finally deleted in 2008.

Thank you for posting. The Ferruzzi Group owned a grain elevator near my home along the Mississippi River in the 1970's near Myrtle Grove. Those ships frequented the elevator many times throughout the year. They were one of my favorites to watch. The oldest of the company were the Carlotta F, Eleonora F and Alessandra F. Such great memories.

Thanks, Rick. I found out that the company built four similar bulkers at this yard. I find them quite good-looking!
