The Alaska Department of Fish & Game research vessel KESTREL out of the water at the Point Hope Maritime shipyard.

She was originally built in 1990 as a hydrographic survey and research vessel for the Canadian Coast Guard. She was laid up by the Coast Guard in 2002 and acquired by the State of Alaska in 2003.
