Mei Hai was 212.9 l.o.a. and 28 meters wide. A shot of Mei Hai shows that already in early 2000 she had lost all her cargo gear and is fitted with a simple life boat. Her superstructure was different, actually it looks like both ships (built by the Treci Maj Shipyard) had been built to accommodate a lot of people. Could they have been used as training ships and after that duty converted to coastal bulkers?

If FU TAI SHAN is ex-MEI HAI (7525463) is indeed a sister of FU HAI 616 ex-XUE HAI (7525451) she doesn't look like it now.

However, for the latter, Phil English noted that she was given a rebuild when she was listed as scrapped and a nice new build year. So perhaps this one also rejuvenated at some point?

Ship looks as built in 80th. Chinese designs of late time look diferent in my opinion.

I'm afraid 8369203 isn't a valid IMO number.

Dmitriy, this looks like a much newer ship, MMSI 413271680, and no further info to be found. ( Length o.a. 212, beam 28 meters)

Those lifeboats are standard for times when vessel was built. I was on "Miranda Rose" in 2001, built for norwegian Western bulk. The same story.

a local trader with simple life boats on both sides...what is the value of human life when trading coastwise?
