Could there not have been a casualty on board of the ship herself?

The worst accident I could find in Finland in the period was the sinking of the dredger NOSTAJA, off Pietarsaari, Bothnian Bay where 16 people lost their lives on September 6, 1972.

The flag on the fort in the background is full height. I wonder whether there some national mourning in Finland at that moment in 1971-73

Hi Pieter,I have some on the site, but you must bear in mind that more than 60 years ago was quite different from today and I was a young boy with limited resources and photography was dear and costly hobby so my box cameras and my father folding one were very rudimentary so the photos taken and printed and were all were of the quality to be reproduced here today.

Valletta harbour for sure. Photo taken from Lower Baracca garden....memories of a younger age when I used to walk down to the garden from the bus terminal and spend hours there photographing ships....more than 60 years ago. Time flies and waits for no one.
