I worked on the ss gudrid in 1958 as the mess boy.
We sailed out of Bergen,up to archangel,down to Caen
and across to beckon in London where I signed off
at an office in Lancaster Gate.Fabulous trip for a young bloke

SS "GUDRID" was build by Stavanger Støberi & Dok in Stavanger, Norway. She had a building number 89 and delivered in june 1922 to shipping company Bachke & Co in Trondheim, Norway. She sank after an allied attack 30. march 1945 in the harbour of Porsgrunn. Refloated and repaired. Sold to Bulet-State Economics Enterprice, Sofia in 1960
