This class of ship were known as the "Cardiff Class" as they were designed by Sir William Reardon Smith of Cardiff with whom they ran a joint venture with Irish Shipping, Dublin known as "Celtic Bulk Carriers". Were specifically designed for the Pacific Coast Lumber trade. The Reardon-Smith ships from memory were "FRESNO CITY" ,"PRINCE RUPERT CITY" , "NEW WESTMINSTER CITY" and a couple of others which escape me. Sorry . :-?
