Submariner, you are correct, as i wrote it on Croatian, she was left to rot in shallow water. However, just today i red in paper that they decided to pull her up and rebuild

Submariner is right. Still lying on bottom on same place as was before salvage attempt. Expecting, maybe, arrival of more favourable times.....

ISTRANKA This statement is a complete nonsence! (In Croatian it stated that vessel was raised and sent to drydock for repairs). Salvage operation of 2011 was a complete fiasco, she is still on the bottom at Sjeverna Luka (Northern Port) at Split in extremely poor condition. There are no new plans for her raising! Brgd

brod austrougarske ratne mornarice 44-metarska jahta »Istranka«, porinuta 1896. pod imenom »Ossero« u Trstu. Bila je u privatnom vlasništvu nadvojvode Karla Stjepana, a tri je godine kasnije prodana ratnoj mornarici - tada mijenja ime u »Dalmat«. Nadvojvoda Franjo Ferdinand na svoje sudbonosno i posljednje putovanje u Sarajevo krenuo je iz Pule do Metkovića upravo »Dalmatom«, a nakon atentata njegovo tijelo, i tijelo supruge, istim je brodom prevezeno do ušća Neretve gdje ih je preuzeo slavni brod »Viribus Unitis«.

Nakon Prvog svjetskog rata u sastavu mornarice Kraljevine SHS i Jugoslavije brod nosi naziv »Vila«, za talijanske okupacije »Fata«, nakon 1945. zove se »Orjen«, a pod imenom »Istranka« bio je poznat kao brod-restoran u splitskoj luci.

Brod je posljednja dva desetljeća privezan u Vranjicu kod Splita i prepušten zubu vremena. Nekoliko pokušaja da ga otkupe privatne osobe, propalo je, a nakon 2000. godine zaustavljena je prodaja inozemnim vlasnicima zbog njegovog povijesnog značaja. Godine 2007., uslijed nemara i nebrige, oplata »Istranke«, privezana uz mol, popustila je, a nekad elitna jahta nasjela je na morsko dno.

This is ISTRANKA. Used as restaurant until early or mid 80's. I think she was scrapped.
