Another shot of the Norwegian Panamax, Sygma, wrecked on Stockton Beach Newcastle Australia in 1974.

The flying fox used to haul cutdown blocks of accommodation is visible rigged to the after samson post.

This shot circa 1978/79 - she is now cut down to the poop deck level.

Thanks for picture of Sygna. It was built at Austin & Pickersgills, aft end launched july'67, fore end oct '67. It was built in two halves, because Pickersgills yard was a couple of miles up the river Wear and due to the bend at Laings Yard, Deptford, a 45,000 dwt ship could not get round it. The owners were Ludwick, Mownickels, Rederi. The two halves were joined together on the Tyne, as were the two halves of "Happy Dragon" a similar ship built at Pickersgills, fore end launched Oct '66, aft end Jan '67, for Halfdan Grieg.
