She was built in 1929 as a whale catcher for norwegian company "skyttern" as "SS Skudd 2", and was captured by the Germans during the invasion of Norway and used as a patrol boat on the Norwegian coast Through the war. After the war she was back catching whales in the south Atlantic and ended her whaling career stationed at a whalin station in Øygarden west of Bergen til the beginning of the 50s, then she was converted into a cargo boat. in 1985 she was converted into a live fish carrier. I had the pleasure of skippering her for 5 years. Her sea going abillity was excellent and I've taken her trough a few North sea storms crossing from bergen to Shetland. She's still going strong, sailing mostly on the Norwegian coast these days. She has a long history and hopfully will be around for years yet... Great photo it's nice to see it from this angle too :-)
