Hello, Gerolf. This is the former U. S. Coast Guard ferry *Lt. Samuel S. Coursen,* built 1956 at Camden, NJ, as hull no. 207 by the John H. Mathis Co. originally for the U. S. Army. 172.5' x 48.1 x 14; 869 gt, 512 nt; twin Busch-Sulzer 6-cylinder Diesels, 12.5" x 13, 1440-bhp, connected to two GE electric motors. She serves the former Coast Guard installation at Governors Island, now owned by New York State, from a dock near that of the Staten Island ferry, as I recall.
