Built as a landing craft for the US Navy in 1954, bought by the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1964 and in 1972 modified into an experimental bypass dredge using the diverted wash of her propellers to move material. (Winchester Bay, Oregon, Sept. 24, 2002)
