The description is wrong. The River-class Frigate HMCS Strathadam that was built in 1944 by Yarrow, Esquimalt was sold to Israel in 1947 and renamed Misgav but was then scrapped in 1959. The one that was renamed Gajabahu was the ex-River-class frigate HMCS Hallowell (which was built in 1944 by Canadian Vickers Ltd., Montreal). She was she was sold to Uruguayan interests in 1946 before being resold in 1949 to a Palestinian group for conversion to a short-service ferry in the Mediterranean Sea, named Sharon and remained in service until 1952 when she was sold to Israel in 1952 and renamed INS Miznak (K-32) and served until 1958 before being sold to Ceylon in 1958 as HMCyS Gajabahu before being renamed SLNS Gajabahu in 1972.
