Description:

Toern in really heavy weather This is a shot of a photograph my late grandfather owned. Its not his shot, i think it was a gift, as he worked in the Thor Dahl- company. Most violent storm-shot i ever have seen.
I repeat: Kick it out if you want.

Yeah,

I know this situation very well, when I was on a german torpedoboat / class 143 in 1994. We were hidden by a hurrican, when we were crossing the Bay of Biscay in April that year. A lot of equipment of the boat was destroyed by that storm. 3/4 of the crewmembers were broken down and felt ill. I was saved by a rope on the "open bridge". The vessel coiled over 43 degrees!!!

Yep, the sea can scare the #OOPS# out of the toughest of men and woman. The biggest waves i have encounterd was 13-15 meters on the norwegian coast. At least thats what they said on the radio. It was infernal, and we lost some deck-cargo. Never been so afraid in my life, yet it was incredibly exiting!
43 degrees! Thats sick!
I can only imagine what the guys on toern was thinking when they saw this wave came crashing in.

And:

Ja, det bildet er bare helt vanvittig. Farfaren min fikk det i gamle dager når han jobba for Thor Dahl.
Jeg skal ut å jobbe for maersk contractors på maersk innovator eller inspirer, og GLEDER meg til uværet!

Thanx man, yes, i have encountered such weather once, when i sailed on this one, when her name was tore hund:
Tore Hund
We had 12-15 meters of pounding waves on the norwegian coast.
Will never forget it! But man... This tiny ship, even smaller than the tore hund. When my grandfather still lived, i could not get enough stories about life on the small whalers...
Memories, hehe!
