I broke her out of the James River Fleet for the first Gulf war as 1st Engineer. We started her up at NORSHIPCO and sailed her through the Panama Canal to Hawaii and then Japan looking for amo to bring to the Persain Gulf. The war ended before we loaded, so we brought the retrograde amo to Port Chicago,CA. A year or so later I helped lay up the Agent and Ambassador at southwest marine as a port engineer. Last I heard was the were in Suisun Bay. I worked for American Export Lines right out of school from 1975-1980. |

Does anybody have any details (beyond standard specs) or recollections of this ship, or her sisters (Export(s) Aide, Adventurer & Ambassador)? |
