Ouch!!!!!!!!!! that is quite a write off. They have experimented with similar things on the Iron Range in Minnesota seeking a better alternative to taconite now that the rick ore deposits have all been mined. Nothing has come to fruition.

Again, nice photo - keep them coming. Thanks for the reply and the postings.

G'day magogman,

Yep, it's flat all right!! Glad you liked it. The plant is BHP Billiton's now scrapped HBI (Hot Briquetted Iron ore) plant, which was only run for a couple of years then shut down for safety and operational reasons. The company wrote off over $A2billion on it, a very expensive exercise. They are currently dismantling it for scrap.
