Further to the sad picture of the [i]Adriatic[/i] posted here recently, I scanned this one. It was taken in July 1991 at Poreč, shortly after Slovenia proclaimed its independence. While the federal army tanks invaded Slovenia and Jadrolinija's [i]Marko Polo[/i] shuttled between Pula and Italy with tourists who fled Istria, this early morning picture shows a mere two dozens of people waiting for Atlas Tour's day trip to Venice with the [i]Adriatic[/i].
