Description:

She was completed in 1971 by Swan Hunter at Newcastle for British India Steam Navigation Co and I took this in Glasgow in March 1971 when she was loading for her maiden voyage.
Under the P&O corporate renaming she became STRATHMEIGLE and then went to the Thai flag as KANNIKAR. She was scrapped under that name in 1987.
Two sisters I think were MORVADA and MULBERA.

Hi

Spent a lot of time between Australia and Persian Gulf, later extending to N.Z. when given the "Strath" names. Unsure of their trading to Japan.

Cheers

Hi

At some stage will scan and post a slide I took of Strathmeigle sailing Auckland for the Gulf late one evening maybe some 25 years ago now. This was a far more important event for me than the alternative of dinner with the wife's relatives. Still married.

Cheers

Brent

Her sisters were indeed Merkara and Morvada, along with the Manora.
