The name of the towboat in the background is the JULIE. Built in 1955 by St. Louis (Mo.) Shipbuilding & Steel Co. as the LACHLAN MACLEAY 269437. 162 x 45. Quadruple screw 4xGM 12-645E2 diesels, repowered 1976 total 5,600 hp. Built to operate primarily on Missouri River for Federal Barge Lines, Inc., St. Louis. Transferred March 1963 to Gulf-Canal Lines, Inc., Houston, Tex. Transferred 1971 to United Barge Co., Minneapolis, Minn. Renamed LADY SLIPPER when leased Jan. 1972 to Ajax Towing Co., Minneapolis. Sold Dec. 1975, renamed DAN C. BURNETT by Sun Transportation Co., Boonville, Mo. Sold Dec. 1994 to RTZ Mining Co., Brazil.
