Hi Joe, My first ever job after leaving school was as a deck hand on board The Aquila Maris based at Portpatrick in the SW Scotland in 1974. The vessel was employed in the testing of military equipment. She was a 63ft ex RAF Pinnace. Our 1st Mate was expecting RAF who had served on her in the Mediterranean. In the early 80's she was replaced with a newer fibreglass vessel. When I worked on her she had a raised hold compartment aft of the bridge.
