Description:

Another shot of this tanker completed in 1961 by Hawthorn Leslie at Hebburn on Tyne for the K Line, Kaye,Son and Co. hence her name.
She was built to a Shell design, approx 40000dwt for long term charter and this was taken on the Elbe in August 1972 as she made her way to Hamburg.
She was sold in 1981 becoming AOUNALLAH and was scrapped as such in 1983 in Pakistan.

Kayeson was registered to Royal Mail when with Furness Withy.I was on her for 6 years.

Remember her well ,Paul. Had a friend who was 4th Engineer on her and he reckons she was a good berth . He done two trips , one of nine months and I think the other one was fifteen and he ended up as 3rd. Said she was a very happy ship and a good feeder (and that's what counts [:D]) Kaye , Son & co., ended up in the Furness Withy Group and I believe the "KAYESON" as actually managed by Houlder Bros.
