ON 233534. Crabber built at Tacoma by the Western Boat Building Co. in 1934. Originally she had a aft house like a halibut schooner, and her hull looks halibut schoonerish, though 1934 is getting late for a halibut shooner. The raised aluminum house was added by her current owner. The crew likes it because they can quickly duck into the shelter underneath to dodge waves while winter crabbing (the season starts about December 1st and the catches start falling off about when the weather starts getting better). (Winchester Bay, Oregon, March 6, 2005)
