Description:

I was most surprised to see the former Canadian Navy training vessel PORTE ST. LOUIS (YMG-183) lying dockside at the Colonna Shipyard at Norfolk VA on June 7, 2007. She has Halifax as her port of registry so I suspect she was Canadian-owned for a time after having been sold by the Navy.
Can anyone shed some light on her present situation?

Marc

Salut Marc
I posted two scan photos off PORTE St.JEAN taken in Montréal back in 1990. Heureux de voir que le St.Louis est toujours à flot.

Here's a link to the Canadian Vessel Registry entry for PORTE ST LOUIS:
PORTE ST LOUIS
One of her sisters, the PORTE ST JEAN is also owned by the same owner:
PORTE ST JEAN
Both are registered as pleasure craft.

She has been at Colona's for several years. I was told she was in use as floating accomodation....but that seems unlikely.Around the corner, in Pescara Creek there was another Canadian: a laker mid-body converted into a floating drydock.
