Snellius, the ship in your photo was going to be restored at one point but it is now in Italy being converted into a yacht as far as I know...

Her sister ship luymes was laid up in southampton for over 30 years also awaiting conversion to a motor yacht but it never got any further than a dry docking and hull being painted black. I once saw an artist impression of how she would look and it was very similar to the artist impression of how snellius will look.

She arrived at some point in the 70's, the hull was cleaned and painted black in the early 90's but when she returned to her berth nothing else happened until 2006 when the was towed away to be scrapped. I think the project stopped because the owner died.

She was one used to film an episode of a tv show.

Hello Pawel,

The ship is one of the two former Duch navy
hydrographic vessels.
The shipsnames are:Snellius and Luymes.
The ship at the photo I dont know which one
it is!!
