Never quite understood that odd name on her, but believe the LDE refers to a division of the Louis-Dreyfus group.

A picture of her as "World NKK" HERE.

Many thanks for your interest and, through reliable LD connections, I can confirm that she was indeed a LD vessel 261,966dwt - Panama flag –MHI steam Turbine.

SPEC was the abbreviation of the project / partnership the vessel was purchased and converted for - LDE stands for Louis Dreyfus Energy – 888 being the luckiest combination of numbers for the Chinese.

She was purchased and converted by LD in Sembawang Singapore for use as a storage / transfer vessel moored just off the coast of China in what was then the “Shenzen special economic zone”, taking in various grades from large product tankers, storing / mixing and transshipping into small river tankers that ultimately fed an upriver power station.

The SPEC stands for Shenzen Petrolium Energy Company.

The vessel is north bound, and heading to Priolo in Sicily to discharge diesel oil,
Where I departed the vessel on the 30th, according to my discharge book.

She had 2 ESD III roof fired boilers.
