I totally agree, she is one of the VERY few feries that I consider a pretty ship.

Well well well... I see she this ship stirs up emotions among us, and that is whats important, isnt it?

Thanx for all nice comments.

Hi Finn! Yep, she sure is one lovely ship. Well worth the 2 hour train-ride, hehe!

One can argue whether it's a beauty or not, I always think an UFO has landed on the top-deck, and interior reminds me more in a casino at Las Vegas than a ship. Bring back the "Kronprins Harald" if you ask me :-) Of cousre my fault that I'm so old-fashioned hehe, it's a good photo nonetheless and an impressive ship, sizewise !

Yeah, i have seen ferries with finer lines, many years ago. But she has a certain style about her. I am not quite sure what it is, but it is something....

She's really nice inside and outside but they forgot a open-deckplace where you can watch the bow from the outside. Not everyone goes to the spa and fitness area. :-)
Also the ways on deck sometimes end at a closed door. :-(
Let's see what the Magic looks like. The same...?
Maybe I'll be at the christening in Kiel, soon.

I am not sure whether I will, although I want to go to Oslo again. I do have a liking for ships like the ex. "Baltic Kristina", small, with alot of outside-deck space, more like a ferry and not a floating shopping-center. And no, I am not talking like the old times have always been better, ships how I like them, are built again, also known as ro-pax ships :-) I liked the old "Prinsesse Ragnhild" though, with extraordinary expensive and extraordinary buffet hehe :-D

Prinsesse ragnhild was my grandfathers last ship before he died. I managed too get lost in her corridors, hehe!

Edit
comment

person
I did too, I think after they have enlarged the ships the corridors did not fit together that much anymore and you had to get decks up/down to get access to another deck. I remember I been onboard with my sister, when the storm "Lothar" was making a bit of a mess here in Europe, and we had a cheap cabin down below cardeck on stern and the ship was moving up and down, and when we heard afterwards about how it was, we were glad to have been safe at sea, there are no trees that can come down and fall on you when you are on sea, you know :-D

I have been on the Ragnhild many times and I loved the ship. Also the decks were you can walk around the whole ship are great. You can see over aft and bow. :-)
But... it was in autumn 2004 when I sailed with her to Bergen in a "cheap" cabin below the waterline. At this time she looked to me like a old grandma. All the steel plates on deck have waves like the sea... :-(

I think my cabin was on deck 1 and on deck 1 was also my car. To get to my car I had to climb to deck 4 and go down again. Tricky...

See some pics HERE

Steel plates what have waves like the sea, well some ships I do see and when I see this, they do remind me in the old buildings in East Germany and Czech Republic, they look as if there was a sign on me "please, maintenance !!" Or like that ship here :-) http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=469564

The COLOR ferries are extraordinary ships! They are a credit to the company, the designers and the builders. You are fortunate to be able to see them so often! Takk for bildet! Finn (fra New Jersey).

The MAGIC should be ready for delivery early in September. Possibly can be at Rauma with our boat at that time, will really wait for if I can spot her departing the shipyard.

I certainly am sure that you will make the extra effort, hehe! Man, its nice to take shots of eh... Nice ships. The Holland-america line ships where something special.

Right indeed, BUT I reed you said: Worlds prettiest ferry. I desagree, that are the DFDS Ferrys 8-) The line of the pearl and the beauty of the Queen :-D haha.
I saw your picture of the Prinsendam also, she's here in a few weeks :-D

Hehe... I certainly can see your point. But we differ somewhat on that issue, you know. I think the color fantasy is the finest. But thats me. The pearl is relly pretty, i must admit.
