Description:

Stern view of the Salvage Monarch and the smaller M.R. Kane. The 97 foot 9 inch Salvage Monarch was built in 1959 and is owned by Norlake Transportation Co., of Port Colborne, Ontario. The M.R. Kane is 60 feet, 6 inches long and is owned by the Toronto Drydock, Corp of Toronto, Ontario. It came up the Welland Canal the previous afternoon to assist the tow of the Aquarama down the Welland Canal. The M.R. Kane is noted for having a deckhand equally photogenic, if not more so, than the handsome tug.
