Description:
The venerable (1967-built) Canadian-flag open hatch cargo ship KATHRYN SPIRIT as shown while upbound on the St.Lawrence River off Verchères on August 3, 2007.
Built as HOLMSUND (Swedish flag), she became MENOMINEE in 1997 and as such did many trips to the Great Lakes. In 2006, she was sold to McKeil Marine of Hamilton and started operating in Canadian waters earlier this year.
