Early on a summer Saturday morning while enroute to Detroit, we see a side view of the Eider, which recently delivered a load of large pipe from Germany (there is a photo of it loading in Bremen posted on this site),loading grain at one of the two elevators owned by Anderson's on the Maumee River in Toledo, Ohio. The 2004 built bulker is 655 feet, 10 inches long. Chartered by Canadian Forest Navigation, the Eider is owned by Pretty Bright Shipping of Panama and managed by Parakou Shipping Ltd. of Hong Kong, China and flies the Chinese flag.
