Description:

The 1929 built self unloading Great Lakes bulker Maumee takes on a load of crushed dolomite at the La Farge dock at Marblehead, Ohio. Formerly named the Calcite II (1961-20010 and William G. Clyde (1929-1061), I remember photographing this ship as the Calcite II from a ferry boat at this location in the 1980's.

The Marblehead station of the U.S. Coast Guard is adjacent to the LaFarge dock and a small Coast Guard vessel can be seen tied up to the dock.
