The "Uwe" was hit by the sinking "Wiedau" which itself was capsizing after collision with the "Mieczyslaw Kalinowki" in Dec. 1975. The "Uwe" was raised in two parts from the bottom of the Elbe and grounded at Harmstorf Salvage, but only the foreship finally was scrapped. The stern remained in situ as the company vanished, and as it puts no threat to shipping this won`t change in the near future.
