Description:

The backwater or "tugboat alley" at the George Gradel Co.'s docks on the west side of Sandusky, Ohio on Lake Erie's Sandusky Bay. Three old tugs which do not appear to be in current use can be seen. On the left is the Timberland which was built in 1946, making it one year younger than the venerable Magogman. It is 41 feet 3 inches long. To the right of the Timberland is the Mighty Jimmy built in 1945 making it 62 years old! It is 56 feet long. To the right of the Mighty Jimmie is the Amber Jean which is boarded up with plywood. Built in 1942 the Amber Jean is 61 feet long but obviously out of service at this time. On the right of the Amber Jean is the active Valerie B.

Thanks, tonylast, for the id on the Amber Jean. She is still listed in Know Your Ships under George Grabel Co.

The unidentified is the *Amber Jean,* out of documentation but still owned by Mark Gradel, I believe.
