Glad you liked it Kent,
we are especially lucky around here in that many of these Thames sailing barges still exist and are maintained and actively used, the day previous to this saw the Southend Barge Match where a flotilla of them raced around a set course. They are so much part of our maritime heritage and its good to see them still going. In fact one that I spent my first school trip 'away' on, the Dawn, is being lovingly restored near to my home. I am taking progress shots and endeavour to sail on her once again upon completion of the works :-) (And before anybody says they have no place on here I will point out that these were the 'general cargo ships' of their day round here.)
