WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
A less compressed view of the BBC Elbe downbound under the Bluewater Brides as it leaves Lake Huron and enters the swift St. Clair River on September 8, 2007. At this location the massive Lake Huron turns into the St. Clair River, creating the fastest current anywhere on the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Seaway system and it is a thrill to watch downbound ships here.
The BBC was built in 2006 and this is its first navigation season in the North American Great Lakes. Flagged in Antigua and Barbuda, the "saltie" is managed by Briese Schiffahrts GMBH & Co. of Leer, Germany.
