Here we have the MSC Erminia just docked in larvik. Bloody hell, thought i would make it in time for a shot of her docking, but no. The bever-tug ran away just as i arrived. Oh well.

1979 ? Almost as old as the ship I tend to see near Gothenburg, the Maersk Brisbane from 1976 :-D
I think MSC have a floating containership-museum, I have once checked their fleetlist and - well, I didn't find any other company having such old ships, not good for this Swiss based company .. 8-)

Right! Well, at first i thought she was from 1971. But no... MSC have some oldtimers in their fleet. This one is heavy, bulky and old. The tugs had their job bringing her in!

You did wonder what was in the containers then, and ship's waterline is very low, too. I do like to watch that, sometimes ship full of containers but waterline very high, think ooh just empty boxes... and another time, not much on deck and ship heavily loaded :-D

Yeah, been thinking about that many times myself, very well observed. This monster was due too be loaded/unloaded this friday. But thinkgs did not run very smooth on this ship according to the lashers, so she had to lay at anchor the entire weekend to start the operations again today. Strange stuff. I guess the msc poland is in drydock or something.

Also the new chartered by Unifeeder "Anne Sibum" had problems last week and stayed a few days in Oslo with rudder-problems.. and sadly, the Larissa won't come to Norway, it's not in their charter anymore and is instead going from Antwerp up to Scotland, and down to Southampton and start journey again at Antwerp.. 8-)
