I could be wrong about when she got her present name. Her sister, Iosif Shmelkin, was given that name in 2008.

Aleksey Anichkin is, as far as I know, still her present name. As for when she got it I can't say for certain, but I should have been either early this year or late last year. Try adding the IMO number to the photo and see what shows up in the Vessel Identification box.

According to my records she was renamed Omar under the Dominica flag in 2003, owned by Remiko Shg. Ltd. (Managed by Rybflot St. Petersburg). She was given as beached at Alang in India under this name on 29 August 2004.
Can you confirm when she might have become Aleksey Anichkin and whether or not she has been broken up. Certainle a life of just 14 years would not be very long for one of these vessels.
