Gerolf, admin scrapyard ships

This vessel was used to make the movie Cargo, starred by Daniel Brhül. That movie was filmed in Barcelona. The ship was towed by tugs to film the exteriors locations. His last destination: scrapyard, no dubt. I see this vessel in Barcelona and his original name was TROJAN, after was renamed KIRA (I think, I'm not sure)and the last name SAMY. But I have a question: why the owner change the name if this vessel is obviously abandoned. This vessel seems taken out of the book titled THE DEATH SHIP by B Traven
