Description:

The ex-HMS Olympus was bought by the RCN from the RN used, a while after commissioning the other 3 Oberon Class Submarines. She was used for training. She is seen here with two of the Canadian Oberons either Okanagan, Ojibwa or Onondaga. The third is just to the left of the picture. Also at this dock is the former HMCS Gatineau and Terra Nova.
A fifth Oberon, HMS Osiris was purchased for spare parts, and I don't know where what's left of her is.

Not the same ones I think. you must be talking about the clas that replaces this one, the Victoria Class (Upholder class when built for HMS) (HMCS Victoria, Chicoutimi, Cornerbrook and Windsor). These are 25 years older)

Info: http://www.hazegray.org/navhist/canada/current/upholder/

I guess they bought her for $4, but the cost to get her there would be millions.

Thanks for posting. Great shot of rarely seen crafts. The Onondaga is supposed to go to Rimouski in the near future at the Sea Museum at Pointe-aux-Pères to be part of the Empress of Ireland esposition there

Thanks. That's great she's going to a museum, I thought they were all going for scrap, but I guess not - yay!

Cheers,
