Oh well, I envy you... what a nice view from your balcony.
And you're right, autumn's come around at Hamburg. (As you commented on CMA CGM Bizet.)
As I finished spotting and started getting home my fingers were so numb from the cold I had problems to insert the coins in the automat to pay the ferry-ride. All foggy and grey yesterday.

Here it just continues and continues, because of too bad weather I had better continuing sleeping than going to see MAERSK VANCOUVER´s departure. Luck I have already dozens pics of the big visitor.

The view is super but as there´s harbour warehouses and lightposts in front I have always to crop these photos.

But otherwise you got a perfect look at the sea.
If I wanted that view on the Elbe I'd have to go camping. Appartments with a view on the Elbe cost a fortune, even rented.
Oh yes - the weather... Hope there are two sunny days in December: At first there's Queen Elizabeth 2 (my one and only chance to see her "alive") and then there's her substitute, Queen Victoria. If I don't get to have some pice of them I going to be hysteric.

Yes, and it makes the spotting easier as you can see when the vessels are starting to depart. Just move your clothes, take the camera and go.

I hope the best you can see them. But December is always tricky as the amount of daylight is the shorter. In Lapland the sun doesn´t even rise above the horizon.

I think only people born up there and spending their whole life there can stand this. Same with midnight sun. Either way, for me it would either be too dark or too bright (I know I can be a bit bitchy sometimes :-D )

I think so. As I live in the Southern coast I think so too. In December is a way too dark and in June it´s too light. I would like to see the stars too but in the light summer nights it is just impossible.
