# the "Courier" is a faithful replica of a war
frigate from the time of Tsar Peter the Great of Russia
# she was originally used to transfer messages between
the commander and the fleet and therefore had to be fast
and maneouverable
# the "Courier" constantly proved these qualities in
heavy seas
# By virute of her being a war ship, she does, of course,
still carry guns
# the ornamental work on the ship was carried out with
great dedication, especially the magnificent figurehead
# this ship is proof of the great skill of Russian
craftsmen at that time.

Thank you for posting this picture of Courier. She has dropped from sight since being sold a few years ago. Does anyone know anything about her current situation? Has she changed names? She's another of the interesting Russian-built vessels that I'd like to track down.

Hi Andreas

I see that your photograph doesn't comply with the Site Standards at http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/xoopsfaq/index.php?cat_id=17
The photograph is quite old and I assume that is why you haven't posted as at least 1024 * 768 pixels (Site Standard) - if you can upload a bigger photograph then that would be great, if not it will stay as it is the only example of this vessel on the site.
