Canon 5D with a 70-200 2.8L lens which has IS which helps keep the image sharp. That night was very misty and it diffused the flood lights so it was not so dark in places and not really bright in others again helping the image. Lens was resting on my car door with the window down.. waited untill the boat was inbetween turns so it was nearly stationary and took the shot. The 5D has very little digital noise so i can use a high ISO, i think this was around 1200 so the shutter time was quite short for the amount of light available. Thanks for the comments i was pleased with the results.

EDIT: Just looked at the camera data it was
1/8th shutter, f4.0, iso 1600, focal length 165mm

I don't normally get time to take shots down at my harbour but maybe i should do it more often. :)

Awesome shot! What is your secret for taking such a perfect clear night photo?
Wish my cam could take night shots like this.
