Shown on October 1, 2007, just a few days after her sister DRUMMOND, pictured below, the KODIAK ISLAND is on her way to the CG Base in Key West, FL. Stationed at St. Petersburg she is a 110-foot Island class Patrol Boat and spend time in southern Florida waters due to the shortage of cutters there. KODIAK ISLAND entered service in 1991 and will to be given a life extension overhaul in the near future. She can turn up about 25 knots and is armed with a 25-mm chain gun and .50cal machine guns. Her prime mission is drug and illegal alien interdiction in the Florida waters.
