Description:
The former US Navy aircraft carrier JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67) as shown while dockside at NOB Norfolk on October 22, 2007.
Decommissioned at Mayport FL on March 23, 2007, she was towed to Norfolk in July. She's staying there until the end of the hurricane season after which she will go to the Philadelphia Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility for storage.

She was the highlight of my recent trip to Norfolk. I photographed her a couple of times while she was in active service. Sad to see her go...
Many of the laid up ships at NMSF at Philadelphia were moved from their berths on the Delaware River to the inner basin to give her docking space as well as to the former SAIPAN (LHA-2) which is already there.
