A very new ship seen here berthed at Princess Wharf no 1 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia after being delivered to Hobart on her sea trials from the Shipyard in Newcastle on Mainland Australia in June 1990. The Ship at this stage had not completed her sea trials and conducted ice breaking trials in August 1990 and commenced summer service for the Australian Antarctic Program in October 1990. The ship has been working for the Australian Antarctic Program each summer since.
