- upbound in the Welland Canal heading towards Lock 2, 4-23-05. The stack on the side is just for show, all the exhaust comes out of the stern of the ship, and man there was lots, it really blankens you when your so close. i feel bad for the people who live right along the shore of the canal when these boats go by beacuse they smoke goes right in to the house, yuck

You have to get used to it.... Not as bad as when coal was used like Kent says.... Here, we have lamebrains that buy a house close to the dump (knowing it's there) and then complanning about the smell. Helloooooooooo?
Kent Malo on Apr 26, 2005 01:57 (11 years ago)
If you think that is bad, this is nothing compared to when the coal burners operated in that area or any area for that matter, and back then no one could do anything about it, unlike today, just a bit of nostalgia Matt.
