Description:

CALUMET is shown while dowbound below Lock 8 of the Welland Canal, 0929 hours 19 November 2007, passing the tug JAMES A. HANNAH.

The CALUMET had backed into a wall in Cleveland several days earlier, and was on her way down the Canal to Ramey's Bend to turn around and proceed back to Wharf 12, where she would moor behind the JAMES A. HANNAH. There, equipment would be offloaded and 24 hours later the vessel would sail for the scrapyard in Port Colborne, where she will be broken up. A sad end to a classic laker...
