Nice photo of this elderly MSC ship you managed to take, and blue sky.. I am going from Travemünde to Helsinki in February and I hope for weather like that :-D

Thanks for your comment, Cornelia! Glad to hear that you are heading this way. Let us know when you are coming - maybe we could help you getting around here, if you wish. Maybe we try to make some arrangements about the weather as well...!

Yes, you can start collecting some ice, as it would be nice to have some ice near the port of Helsinki :-) Long ago, last time I have experienced that, was on a trip on Finnjet to Helsinki. Well, I am not sure how much of ship-photography I am doing, probably not extensively, as I am going with my sister and she's more interested in the city of Helsinki, nice winter-scenes and going out, although she enjoys trips by ships very much too, but she isn't interested THAT much in those ones. So, I think I'll catch whatever I can get, but otherwise, in the city, to Suomenlinna and similar smaller trips, must see what we can do :-D

OK, I will talk to our meteorologists. Actually, you are by no means the only one wishing for some ice (not even snow do we have here at the moment - cold yes!). Ice brings a totally new perspective to ship photography, as I remotely remember from last winter, actually from the first few months of my shipspotter's career! :-D

At any rate, you and your non-shipspotting sister are very welcome to Helsinki. Hope to hear from your experiences here in due time.

Most folks I know always go South and hate the North and ice.. - you've got an IM.
