Good photograph - She has in fact "Come Home" as looks very much like an old HAPAG-Lloyd liner type - Not surprised she still going as HAPAG rarely built a bad ship and maintained them to a very high standard which is more than you can say for some shipowners these days.

Thanks for this, well - I had to ask at a forum for more information about this ship because that was built far before my time to be interested in ships and travelling around, so I learned alot about that !!
Shipowners maintainance, yes in port of Hamburg you can always see which companies are maintaining their ships - at least from outside - well, and which ones don't care so much, or perhaps they are just under-crewed, no ideas.. I personally think, the various feeder-companies always seem to care alot about their ships :-D With greetings from Switzerland, Cornelia

I had asked on a forum what that "bent" on the ship's hull just in front of the superstructure is, as I did suspect that the ship got lengthened-modified for some reason, and yes, the answer I got is - that this one was actually made longer and wider, in 1979 so they can transport more containers, as well I got told that this one was not built as containership but they modified it.
