This is *LT 1953,* built as hull no. 412 by Avondale Marine Ways, Inc., Avondale, LA, in 1953, becoming *Salerno LT 1953* in 1984. She was to go to the Brownsville Navigation District, Brownsville, TX, in 1997 to serve that port authority, but that deal fell through. LT 1953 was offered for sale 2 October 2001 by the Defense Logistics Agency, she then located at Curtis Bay, MD. She supposedly was sold but that deal also fell through, and she is still the property of the U. S. Army Automotive and Armaments Command, Vessel Inspection Branch, Ft. Eustis, VA, as far as I know.
