|A photo of this Clyde paddle steamer in her Clyde days.
She was built by the Fairfield yard in Glasgow in 1931 for the London and North Eastern Railway Co. and had a totally different appearance then.
She was rebuilt in 1945/46 using the drawings for the LNER's new paddler which became WAVERLEY.
Withdrawn in 1964 she was sold for service on the South Coast of England under the stipulation that she receive a change of name and she became QUEEN OF THE SOUTH.
Many factors were against her but she did enjoy some success until she was withdrawn completely and went to breakers in Belgium.
This photo taken at Rothesay is from the camera of the late Michael Campbell a good friend of mine and an ardent JEANIE DEANS fan!
